Paintings from Hudson's Bay collection auctioned in Toronto

The future homes of 27 pieces of Hudson's Bay history were auctioned in Toronto on Nov. 19 as art lovers, collectors and historians gathered to watch some valuable Canadian artwork come up for sale. Record prices were being recorded within the first few sales and multiple bidders vied for several of the paintings.

The Ontario Hospital Association issued a statement Tuesday, saying there was an alarming increase in cases, which have now hit a three-year high.

One 1972 news story called Gail Scott “CTV’s lady on the Hill” and gushed that she was the “first regular woman correspondent [covering the Canadian Parliament] for a national television network.” In fact, Ms. Scott had reported for the CBC in Ottawa since graduating with a journalism degree in 1966. She filed stories for radio and occasionally for television throughout the late 1960s; by 1969, she was a CBC assignment editor for both French and English television.
