After he was re-elected in November, 2024, U.S. President Donald Trump said he wanted to make Canada the “51st state” and threatened to impose tariffs on its neighbour to the north. Those tariffs came in February and Canada and the U.S. have been embroiled in a trade war ever since.

The President’s actions have sparked a wave of national pride and patriotism in Canadians, who have sought to defend their country from threats of annexation. They’re cancelling their flights and vacations to the U.S., buying Canadian at the grocery store and cheering with a newfound fervour for our national sports teams.
