November 21, 2025

Multiple teachers using bear spray and a bear banger furiously fought off a grizzly bear that had emerged from the woods to attack a group of schoolchildren on a field trip on B.C.’s central coast, authorities said Friday.

Four people – one adult and three children – we badly hurt in the Thursday attack, the B.C. Conservation Officer Service said. They were airlifted to hospital, with two in critical condition, BC Emergency Health Services said.
