They say a little white lie never hurt anyone, but they also say honesty is the best policy. Over in Wales, they are leaning towards the latter phrase in the political arena. And they are turning this policy into law to prove that point. If passed, it will soon be illegal for any politician in Wales to lie. Presently, there is a petition in Canada that is calling for the feds to adopt a similar stance. Should we do this for all levels of government, and are there any drawbacks we haven’t thought of yet? Fed Sanchez is a Toronto-based doctor, the Founder of Political Honesty Canada, and the man who initiated this electronic petition to the House of Commons. He explains what triggered this idea. Later in the program, we get the legal perspective from UOttawa Law Professor Paul Daly. Plus, as another dose of Winter weather wraps up the last weekend of November, a couple of Highway 417 ramp closures will make the commutes even tougher. CTV’s Tyler Fleming delivers the details in Hour 1. But first, we bring you up to speed on today’s top headlines.
