I find Bruce Deachman's Dec. 4 story quite cynical. Unless the public servants are near retirement or can qualify for these exceptional packages, I very much doubt returning to the office 5 days weekly will encourage them to leave. Except for a few professionals who would find employment  beyond government where do you think the others would find similar employment with similar compensation? So that motive you attach to the government is not valid.
