Carney to meet Trump at FIFA event in Washington

Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump at a FIFA World Cup event Dec. 5 in Washington as trade negotiations between Canada and the United States remain on pause. The Prime Minister's Office said Carney will meet briefly with Trump at the Kennedy Center and is also set to meet with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. This will be the first in-person meeting of all three leaders ahead of next year's mandatory review of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement on trade.
Across Canada, highways and rural roads are studded with cellular “dead zones” – thousands of kilometres without reliable mobile service. Reporters Jill Mahoney and Irene Galea have been investigating how many of the country’s major roads and highways are disconnected. They found that coverage gaps span more than 30 per cent of major roads in some provinces, and in some cases, you can’t receive calls and texts for more than 100 kilometres.
