Upcoming traffic impacts around Richmond Road at Highway 417

As part of the Stage 2 O-Train project, motorists travelling north and south on Richmond Road at the Highway 417 should anticipate impacts to traffic due to construction activities, including temporary concrete barrier removal and line painting, on the following dates and times:

  • Tuesday, December 16 from 8 pm until 6 am on Wednesday, December 17: Lane reduction on Richmond Road southbound.
  • Wednesday, December 17 from 11 pm until 5 am on Thursday, December 18: Richmond Road northbound and the on-ramp from northbound Richmond Road to Highway 417 eastbound will be closed.
  • Richmond Road southbound to Highway 417 westbound ramp closure will end at 6 am on Wednesday, December 17.
  • The lane closure on Richmond Road southbound is anticipated to be lifted on Thursday, December 18.
Traffic detour

Motorists can use the following detours:

Entering eastbound on Highway 417 from northbound Richmond Road:

  • Continue northwest on Holly Acres Road to Carling Avenue.
  • Turn right onto Carling Avenue, proceed eastbound until reaching Pinecrest Road.
  • Turn right onto Pinecrest Road, continue south to connect with eastbound Highway 417 on-ramp.

Entering eastbound on Highway 417 from southbound Holly Acres Road or southbound Richmond Road:

  • Travel south to Baseline Road.
  • Turn left and travel east on Baseline Road to Greenbank Road.
  • Turn left and travel north to use Highway 417 eastbound on-ramp from Greenbank Road.

Entering westbound on Highway 417 from southbound Bayshore Drive and southbound Richmond Road:

  • Travel south on Richmond Road to Holly Acres Road.
  • Turn right onto Holly Acres Road. 
  • Travel northwest to access the westbound Highway 417 on-ramp.
OC Transpo service impacts

Between 11 pm on Wednesday, December 17 and 5 am on Thursday, December 18, OC Transpo Routes 61, 62 and 63 in the direction of Tunney’s Pasture will be detoured between Woodridge Avenue and Richmond Road with access to Bayshore Station maintained.
