Boats run aground in Vancouver's False Creek after overnight windstorm

A number of boats ran aground in Vancouver's False Creek early Wednesday morning amid a windstorm, and it's led to calls for governments to step up and deal with the problem of derelict boats along the water body.

Premier David Eby boarded a flight for India on Friday, embarking on a trade mission to a country that only recently was in a serious diplomatic dispute with Canada.As far as trade missions go, this trip is a no-frills excursion. When Ontario’s standardized test results were released last month, they pointed to the trouble many students are having learning math − but some boards have been excelling. Half of Grade 6 students and 42 per cent of students in Grade 9 did not meet the provincial standard for math in the 2024-25 school year, according to data released by the Education Quality and Accountability Office, an arm’s length agency of the provincial government.
