Ottawa Now - In an effort to preserve transit safety, A.I. could soon have access to Ottawa's transit cameras

You might never realize it, but Artificial Intelligence could soon be examining Ottawa’s transit cameras to deter crime. The City of Ottawa is mulling over ‘real-time detection A.I.’ for OC Transpo security cameras. It currently has 10,000 cameras in its arsenal, and Artificial Intelligence would be able to keep watch over city buses and transit stations to keep riders safe. Brian Mishara was heavily involved in a similar pilot project for Montreal’s transit system. He joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.
The only machine in Saskatchewan is down, leaving patients with limited options. The NDP says this is not the first time this has happened, and the province needs more scanners.
