Canadian authorities have processed asylum claims for 19 Haitian migrants arrested on Christmas and returned an unspecified number of them to the United States after determining they are inadmissible, the Canada Border Services Agency said.
A group of people between the ages of 1 and 60 were found last week in the woods near Montérégie in southern Quebec, approximately five kilometres from the border with the state of New York.
On the day Prashant Sreekumar died, he slid out of bed early to surprise his wife, Niharika, with a mug of chai. He used ChatGPT to make sure he did it right. Mr. Sreekumar, an accountant, left for work later that morning, three days before Christmas. But a few hours later he called his wife of 19 years to say his chest hurt and he was losing vision in his left eye. A client drove him to Grey Nuns Community Hospital in southeast Edmonton.
