Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Tues. January 6th, 2026

January 6, 2026

A local lawyer says ChatGPT could fuel a spike in Canadian divorces. In case you didn’t know, the first Monday following the holiday season is typically one of the busiest days for dissolved marriages. At least, that’s where the first drops of a legal dissolution are being spotted. It’s dubbed ‘Divorce Day’ by family law firms, and some of the latest upticks are fueled by advice from ChatGPT, some of which isn’t very good. Kristy Cameron chats with Russell Alexander, an Ontario family lawyer and bestselling author, in Hour 2. Meantime, a first-of-its-kind pilot project in Eastern Ontario is aiming to protect pet parrots, specifically when their aging owners can no longer care for them. CTV’s Katelyn Wilson delivers the details. Plus, did you hear the joke about the man who ran around Brockville Police Station in his birthday suit? Well, that’s not a punchline. It’s actually a true story. CFRA’s Chris Holski is here to tell it.
