After some well-deserved time off, many of us are returning to the office this week. You log in, and you are greeted by a series of unread emails, not to mention a heap of work on your plate. And according to a new survey, a lot of workers don’t feel they can fully disconnect. They have to pay the ‘time off tax’, meaning they have to do work before they log off or when they return, all in an effort to avoid falling behind. Kristy Cameron digs deeper with Heather Haslam, the Vice-President of Marketing at ADP Canada. Meantime, the former City of Ottawa lawyer who pleaded guilty to defacing the National Holocaust Memorial has been given a suspended sentence, and will serve no additional jail time.
