Toronto-area jeweller accused of laundering funds for Ryan Wedding made money on crypto, poker

A Toronto-area jeweller who is accused in the United States of laundering funds for a violent international drug-trafficking network allegedly run by former Canadian Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding testified Monday that he made substantial amounts of money from trading cryptocurrencies and playing poker.
Rolan Sokolovski, 37, appeared in a Toronto court on Monday as part of a hearing to determine whether he can be released on bail ahead of his extradition proceedings. He is pledging to post $2-million in bail.

Canadian artist Phil Richards has said he considers portraiture to be “a collaboration between artist and subject.” Perhaps nowhere is that more clear than in a tiny last-minute change in his newly unveiled portrait of former prime minister Stephen Harper.
The portrait includes many details and Easter eggs (more on that in a moment) but at the very top of the image is a collection of flags, one from New Brunswick, the ancestral home of Harper’s family. Barely visible (it’s a fraction of an inch across) is a red banner flying from the ship on the flag.
