Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Tues. January 20th, 2026

January 20, 2026

During the COVID-19 pandemic, hundreds of workers were hired by the federal government to work remotely. And now, they are expected to report to Ottawa-based workstations. Is it fair to relocate employees after working remotely for several years, especially if they don’t even live within driving distance of Canada’s Capital? Kristy Cameron sifts through the CFRA textboard and tackles today’s Question of the Day. Meantime, Ottawa is turning 200 years old, and plans are already underway for this year’s massive party. The municipality says it will be distributing another $600,000 through artist and civic events funding programs. Joining us in Hour 3 is Ottawa Bluesfest executive director Mark Monahan and Ottawa Tourism vice-president of destination development Catherine Callary.
