Frigid weather sweeping country forces flight delays, cancellations

Intense cold weather sweeping the country has led to flight delays or cancellations at most of Canada’s major airports.

Air Canada says in a notice on its website that extreme cold at Toronto and Montreal airports is causing delays, and that customers can rebook at no cost.

OTTAWA — The federal justice department has widened its use of heat and motion sensors installed under staff’s desks, raising further concerns from staff and a union that they could eventually be used to monitor office attendance even if their employer swears it won’t.
