Carney’s quest for trade could see him travelling the world for much of 2026

Mark Carney has been circling the globe on government aircraft since becoming prime minister – part of his efforts to secure new trade links and investment to double non-U.S. exports in the next decade.
In just the first month of this year, he visited France, China, Qatar and Switzerland.
Prime Minister Mark Carney is expected to speak Tuesday at an event in Ottawa marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day. This year marks the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp.

Ontario Provincial Police say they put out a shelter-in-place alert for part of the Central Frontenac community early Tuesday morning. The suspect was later arrested and the alert lifted.
