Peterborough police won’t participate in federal assault-style firearms buyback program

The Peterborough Police Service is the latest to announce it will not be participating in the federal government's Assault-Style Federal Compensation Program launched Jan. 19.

The cuts are part of a $130-million reduction in government grants to non-profits and community groups in the provincial budget tabled Monday with a $1.2-billion deficit.
