AI strategy must prioritize trust as Canadians voice skepticism: watchdog

Artificial Intelligence Minister Evan Solomon said the 'refreshed' AI strategy, which will be unveiled in the first quarter of this year, is rooted in the concept of 'AI for all.'

Ontario is examining legislation that would allow special constables to arrest and ticket drug users. Today, Ottawa City Council has voted 17-7 to endorse that legislation. It would also expand present-day enforcement powers to OC Transpo special constables, who would be able to arrest and fine people using drugs on public transit. The motion was moved by Rideau-Vanier councillor Stéphanie Plante. She joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.
