Porter travellers in Sudbury lose direct Toronto service, gain Ottawa

Air travelers flying out of Sudbury will soon have one less choice for a flight to Toronto. Porter Airlines is ending its Sudbury-to-Toronto route as of May 1st. It will offer Sudbury-to-Ottawa "turbo-prop" service instead. This leaves Sudbury passengers with only Air Canada's service of three flights a day to Toronto Pearson.
On Tuesday, Long-Term Care Minister Natalia Kusendova-Bashta confirmed the $9 million program, first announced last year, would begin rolling out.
