Kevin O'Leary slams Billie Eilish over comments about 'stolen land' at Grammys
Canadian businessman Kevin O’Leary is slamming singer Billie Eilish over her “stolen land” anti-ICE comment at the Grammy Awards.
“As grateful as I feel, I honestly don’t feel like I need to say anything, but, that no one is illegal on stolen land,” Eilish, 24, said on stage Sunday as she received the award for song of the year.
“It’s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now,” the singer continued.
“And I just I feel really hopeful in this room, and I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting, and our voices really do matter, and the people matter,” Eilish said.
The remark has led to criticism from the Tongva Tribe , an aboriginal tribe of the Los Angeles Basin referred to as the First Angelenos. The Tongva said her L.A. mansion was located on their “ancestral land,” in a statement to Fox News .
O’Leary weighed in on the matter on Tuesday, telling Fox News on its America Reports segment that he felt sorry for celebrities who “wander into this kind of thing without doing at least a basic AI search.”
“She got torched but, you know, do your homework first,” he said.
“I’m very optimistic that from this something good will happen. I’m not sure what happens to her. I say this to entertainers: ‘Half the people in politics that you piss off won’t buy your music anymore. Don’t be stupid about it.’ But hey, they don’t listen.”

O’Leary continued: “Well, I know her agents are going out of their minds. I mean it’s the first lesson 101 for celebrity. As you rise up, whether you’re a film star or music star, whatever, shut your mouth and just entertain.”
The Tongva Tribe told Fox News that Eilish has not contacted them directly regarding her property and they do “value the instance when Public Figures provide visibility to the true history of this country.” The tribe said it reached out to the singer’s team to express its “appreciation for her comments.”
“It is our hope that in future discussions, the tribe can explicitly be referenced to ensure the public understands that the greater Los Angeles basin remains Gabrieleno Tongva territory,” the statement concluded.
Daily Mail reports that the 10-time Grammy Award winner lives in a $3-million home.
Meanwhile, a law firm in Los Angeles offered to evict Eilish from her residence pro bono on behalf of the Tongva Tribe.
“Eilish’s admission that she lives on stolen land gives the tribe a rightful action for possession as the true owner of the property. The 30-day notice is already written and ready to be served,” the firm said in a post on X .
