Ontario Science Centre allowing attrition to shrink workforce after closure

The Ford government announced the science centre at Don Mills and Eglinton would permanently close in 2024, pointing to the structural integrity of its roof.

Ontario is examining legislation that would allow special constables to arrest and ticket drug users. Today, Ottawa City Council has voted 17-7 to endorse that legislation. It would also expand present-day enforcement powers to OC Transpo special constables, who would be able to arrest and fine people using drugs on public transit. The motion was moved by Rideau-Vanier councillor Stéphanie Plante. She joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.
