Halifax bar closes after sewage backup, but it’s unclear who will pay to fix it

A sewage backup at Rumours Lounge and Cabaret on the weekend has forced the bar to close. The owners say the building's landlord says it's not their responsibility to repair it.
Canadian passport fees that haven’t risen in over a decade are set to go up at month’s end when the federal government begins to charge a price that reflects Canada’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation.
Moreover, the fee hike this year — $9 or less, depending on the service — could be followed by more in years to come as Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is “in the midst of a comprehensive fee structure review” to ensure that all verified passport program costs are reflected in future adjustments.
