In 2022, Team Canada captured Olympic Gold in the Women’s Team Pursuit. That was in Beijing. Four years later, this time in Milan, the exact same speedskating trio has done it again. It is headlined by Quebec’s Valerie Maltais, as well as Ottawa natives Ivanie Blondin and Isabelle Weidemann. Bob Blondin, who lives in Rockland, is getting ready to join his daughter in Italy for the Closing Celebrations. He takes us through today’s adrenaline rush on Ottawa Now.

A man has been arrested after the statue of Winston Churchill in London, England, was defaced with anti-Israeli graffiti.

OTTAWA — Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre will travel to London and Berlin next week to meet with officials and talk about trade.
It is the first international trip Poilievre will take as opposition leader and will be entirely funded by the Conservative Party of Canada.
Poilievre will meet with parliamentarians and business leaders in the United Kingdom, before attending a Canada-Australia-New Zealand-UK (CANZUK) reception. He will also deliver a speech at the Centre for Policy Studies in London.
