‘No real progress’ in Nova Scotia’s child and family poverty rates: report

The report found Nova Scotia has the highest rate of child poverty in Atlantic Canada and the third-highest in the country — with 22.7 per cent of children living in poverty.
The cuts are part of a $130-million reduction in government grants to non-profits and community groups in the provincial budget tabled Monday with a $1.2-billion deficit.
