Ontario First Nations complete fast-tracked assessments for Ring of Fire road

The Ford government confirmed Friday that Marten Falls First Nation had submitted its environmental assessment for an access road in its community.

Ontario is examining legislation that would allow special constables to arrest and ticket drug users. Today, Ottawa City Council has voted 17-7 to endorse that legislation. It would also expand present-day enforcement powers to OC Transpo special constables, who would be able to arrest and fine people using drugs on public transit. The motion was moved by Rideau-Vanier councillor Stéphanie Plante. She joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.
