Ottawa Now - Balancing national hockey pride with Ottawa Senators pride

February 25, 2026

Brady Tkachuk and Auston Matthews might be squaring off against each other during the Battle of Ontario, but they share a few things in common. First of all, they are American-born captains of Canadian NHL teams. Secondly, they both played for Team USA at the latest Winter Games, taking down Team Canada to win Olympic Gold. And as the focal point of American Men's Hockey, both of them were spotted beside U.S. President Donald Trump, who annoyed Canadians everywhere during Tuesday’s State Of The Union Address. He joins Kristy Cameron on today's Ottawa Now.
