Poilievre to travel to London and Berlin next week

February 27, 2026

OTTAWA — Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre will travel to London and Berlin next week to meet with officials and talk about trade.

It is the first international trip Poilievre will take as opposition leader and will be entirely funded by the Conservative Party of Canada.

Poilievre will meet with parliamentarians and business leaders in the United Kingdom, before attending a Canada-Australia-New Zealand-UK (CANZUK) reception. He will also deliver a speech at the Centre for Policy Studies in London.

The Conservative leader will then fly to Berlin to deliver a keynote speech at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and will meet with German officials and business leaders.

Poilievre will also visit the Hamburg Harbour and tour the Jade-Wesser Port and LNG facility.

Poilievre’s trip comes just days after delivering a speech in front of the Economic Club of Canada in Toronto, where he laid out the trade challenges Canada faces globally and offered ideas on how Canada can use leverage to repair the Canada-U.S. relationship.

Those ideas included a strategic energy and mineral reserve, six-month approval times for major projects, a faster defence procurement process, an all-party working group ahead of this year’s Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) review and a proposed new tariff-free auto pact with the U.S.

Poilievre’s trip is happening at the same time as Prime Minister Mark Carney’s trip to India, Japan and Australia, where the prime minister is hoping to strengthen trade ties in the Asia Pacific region.
