The City of Ottawa says neither City Staff nor Ottawa Police have the necessary resources to manage ‘school streets’. Back in February of 2024, a pilot project was introduced for Trille Des Bois Elementary School in Vanier, located just a few blocks south of Beechwood Avenue. Alice Street, which is where the front of the school is located, is a pretty busy spot for vehicle traffic.
