Ottawa Now - 'If there are no farmers, what are they going to be eating?': Horticulture student vents frustrations over approved cuts at Algonquin College

March 3, 2026

Despite new funding from the Ontario government, and Premier Ford lifting a gut-punching tuition freeze, Algonquin College’s Board of Governors has decided to execute another series of program suspensions. Aarushi Aarushi is a 2nd Semester student at Algonquin’s Horticulture Program, which is one of the programs biting the dust. She vents her frustrations on today’s Ottawa Now.
