A B.C. man has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in the 2021 killing of Naramata woman — a development that remained largely secret until a judge partially lifted a sweeping publication ban this week.
Quebec coroner Stéphanie Gamache will lead a public inquiry into the deaths of five unhoused people, which took place over the past seven months in Montreal. The city’s mayor, who was in tears in late March while announcing the deaths of two people experiencing homelessness, says the final report will include recommendations for authorities aimed at preventing such occurrences.
