Ottawa Now - Fallingbrook resident dissects his public transit headaches

March 5, 2026

We are on a tireless journey to locate the worst bus route that Canada’s Capital has to offer. Brent Charron, an OC Transpo bus rider who lives in Fallingbrook, thinks he’s got a solid contender for this competition. Brent works for the federal government and has been using public transit for 30-plus years. With his off-days being Tuesdays and Thursdays, he takes the transit service to the Downtown Core every single Wednesday, then drives into the Carling DND campus every Monday and Friday. In the past, a single bus ride to the Carling DND would take him 1 hour and 15 minutes. That commute is roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes with the LRT now in place. And that's only part of his public transit headaches. Charron joins Kristy Cameron for the full rundown on today's Ottawa Now.
