Ottawa Now - Why a popular female music group has forced a local entrepreneur to make a branding change

An Ottawa-based entrepreneur has been forced to change the name of her company. That’s because, if she didn’t, the lawyers of a popular female music group were ready to launch a lawsuit for trademark infringement. Lily Bond is the founder of what is currently known as Spyce Girlz Seasonings, a seed that was first planted when she was just 13. And now, after spending countless days at farmers markets, the 22-year-old has expanded her roster of products into grocery stores. But soon, that front-page label is going to look a little different. Lily joins Kristy Cameron on Ottawa Now.
The Israeli ambassador to Canada called the country “one of the centres of antisemitism globally” during a visit to a Thornhill, Ont., synagogue that was shot at last week.
