It is illegal to use the HOV lanes if you’re driving alone. However, that road rule could soon be changed by the Ford government. The province is proposing changes to the Highway Traffic Act, which would allow single-occupant vehicles to use the HOV lanes during off-peak hours. CFRA’s Andrew Pinsent has more on that story. The number of Canadians diagnosed with or dying from cancer will remain at “high levels” in 2026, and while survival rates are improving for several cancers, worrying trends are emerging for others, according to a new report.
Overall, the projected estimates “underscore the substantial impact cancer will continue to pose in Canada” in 2026, researchers report in this week’s issue of the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
Nearly half the population, 42 per cent of all people in Canada, is expected to be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives, the authors report.
