New survey results suggest that Canadians may have reached a tipping point…when it comes to tipping. Commissioned by H&R Block Canada, the data finds that 67 percent of surveyed Canadians believe it's time to abolish tipping altogether. Furthermore, 93 percent of Canadians feel annoyed when a payment machine prompts a tip in situations where gratuities were never expected, such as fast-food restaurants or even self-serve kiosks. We dig deeper in Hour 4 with Wayne Smith, the Director of the Institute for Hospitality and Tourism Research at Toronto Metropolitan University. Organizers of an artistic performance in Toronto allege that China’s communist government is behind a series of “non-credible” threats to the venue that forced the cancellation of a show on Sunday and led to all remaining shows being axed.
