March 20, 2026

The flags at the Kinburn Community Centre (3045 Kinburn Side Road) will be lowered to half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, March 22 in honour of the late Jack Shaw, who passed away on Friday, February6, 2026.

A devoted community and agricultural leader, Jack served with great pride as the final Reeve of Fitzroy Township before amalgamation to West Carleton Township. He gave generously of his time to the Kinburn Community Association and was deeply honoured to receive the Canada 125 Medal in recognition of his many years of dedicated service, among numerous other accomplishments.

He was a dedicated supporter of the Liberal Party of Canada, reflecting his lifelong commitment to public service and to strengthening the community he cared for so deeply.  He will be fondly remembered for his integrity, his kindness, and the warmth of a smile that could light up any room.

A funeral service will take place at the Pilon Family Chapel in Arnprior on Sunday, March 22, at 11:00 am.
