Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Tues. March 24th, 2026

March 24, 2026

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection to a hit-and-run that killed a local crossing guard. The 55-year-old victim was on duty, near an elementary school in Barrhaven, when he was fatally struck by the driver. And this isn’t the first time that nearby residents have raised concerns about this school zone. Barrhaven West councillor David Hill says there are methods to fix these traffic problems, and he intends to implement them within his community. That brings us to you – the members of the mighty CFRA Nation. How can safety be improved in school zones? Kristy Cameron sifts through the CFRA textboard and tackles today’s Question of the Day. Plus, have you heard about the peptide craze? It’s the latest online health trend for wellness influencers, but unregulated peptides are now transforming into a huge problem. We dig deeper in Hour 3 with Timothy Caulfield, a Professor of Health Policy at the University of Alberta. He is also an expert in health misinformation.
