A new poll finds there is growing support for a proposal to lower an Old Age Security (OAS) threshold for some Canadians in order to help reduce the federal government's deficit.

Ontario passed Bill 5, which included the special economic zone provision, last year in a bid to speed up approval and construction of large projects like mines. The provision allows cabinet and the environment minister to suspend any and all provincial and municipal laws within such zones as they see fit.
