12-year-old student pulled classmates to safety during Tumbler Ridge shooting, says MP

More than a month after the deadly mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge, stories of bravery during the tragedy are being shared. At the National Prayer Breakfast in Ottawa Tuesday morning, Conservative MP Bob Zimmer for Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies spoke about a student who pulled two classmates to safety.

But the rate of firearm-related violent crime in 2024 was still 44 per cent higher than 10 years earlier, when it stood at 25 incidents per 100,000 population.
