Wednesday was an 80th birthday party to remember for Ted Martindale, the owner of Granville Coffee in Quesnel. In a project that united the entire central B.C. community, he and numerous volunteers created a 2,500-kilogram carrot cake.

The Northern Ontario Hockey Association will allow the U18 Soo Jr. Greyhounds to compete in a championship game on Sunday in Sudbury against the Copper Cliff Reds. There were initially told they had to forfeit a game after leaving behind an allegedly messy dressing room.
