A new report says the federal government's delivery of a strategy for hiring Indigenous businesses is a "cascading failure," with inconsistent guidance, a lack of accountability and a lack of proper auditing of businesses.

Quebec coroner Stéphanie Gamache will lead a public inquiry into the deaths of five unhoused people, which took place over the past seven months in Montreal. The city’s mayor, who was in tears in late March while announcing the deaths of two people experiencing homelessness, says the final report will include recommendations for authorities aimed at preventing such occurrences.
