In a highly unusual move, Justice Vikas Khaladkar unleashed a wave of criticism when the court was told there weren't enough sheriff's officers to bring Dean Penney, who is accused of murder, to court.
The Carney government plans to make legislative changes to allow law enforcement to search and seize Canadians’ mail. The proposed legislative change is buried in the 2026 spring economic update.
