Kevin O’Leary's proposed Wonder Valley project in northwestern Alberta will not need to undergo an environmental impact assessment from the province due to existing water and power systems. However, the province says other assessments are required before permits can be issued.
Prime Minister Mark Carney is expected to name the successor Tuesday to Mary Simon as Canada's 31st governor general since Confederation.

Ontario Provincial Police say they seized drugs with an estimated street value of $4.1 million during a major operation in Cornwall and Montreal last month. The amount of suspected fentanyl recovered equated to "approximately 200,000 potentially lethal street-level doses," according to police.
