Three years after clergy-abuse case settled for $10M, victims still haven’t been paid

More than 60 victims of sexual abuse by clergy from what is now the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth are still waiting to be paid from a settlement that was approved in November 2022. Some are growing frustrated with the delays and what they view as a lack of information.
A police incident on the bridge earlier this week is renewing calls from mental health advocates to install suicide prevention barriers.
