O-Train Line 1 service to begin at noon on Sunday, April 26

April 21, 2026

O-Train Line 1 service will start at noon, instead of 8 am, on Sunday, April 26.

For customers, this means that on Sunday, April 26:

  • R1 replacement bus service will run from 8 am to noon between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations.
  • Shuttle bus service will run between St-Laurent and Cyrville stations, and between Lees Station and Mackenzie King Bridge.
  • Full O-Train Line 1 service will resume between Tunney’s Pasture and Blair stations by noon.

This service adjustment is required for testing and commissioning of software updates for the O-Train East Extension.  This work will help to advance the expansion of fast and frequent O-Train service for customers in the east end of the city.

OC Transpo staff will be at key stations to support customers during this planned closure. For information on planned Line 1 service adjustments, visit octranspo.com. For trip planning assistance, use the Travel Planner or Transit app, or call 613-560-5000. You can also connect with OC Transpo through Facebook, Bluesky, X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.

A new book by Toronto-based photographer Marnie Salsky explores how Jewish identity “is shaped, witnessed and archived in the present moment, particularly amid rising antisemitism.” Salsky’s book, A Peoplehood | Amiut Yehudit , will be published in mid-May, coinciding with Canadian Jewish Heritage Month. It is based around photos documenting life in Toronto’s Jewish community, press clippings of antisemitic incidents in Canada as well as pictures of European Jewish life before the Holocaust. “One of the goals of this book is to show that there’s just not one way of being Jewish,”...
