A Fairview Mall security employee was rushed to hospital Tuesday after being shot while confronting a man who had just robbed a jewelry store, Toronto police say.

Sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning, a fire broke out behind a furniture store, the flames damaging a cardboard recycling dumpster next to the building.
