Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Wed. April 22nd, 2026

April 22, 2026

Andrew Pinsent is filling in for Kristy Cameron this afternoon, as we tackle a familiar topic on today’s Question of the Day. Should social media be banned for kids under the age of 16? It’s a suggestion that the feds have been mulling over, and one that Australia has already implemented in recent months. And now, a new initiative from Age Standard is adding more fuel to the fire. They want a ban, a stringent age-verification system, punishments for companies that don’t follow these guidelines, and the CRTC to take on a big role in this venture. We go 1-on-1 with Jean-Sébastien Giroux from the Age Standard Initiative. Then, we sift through the CFRA textboard and take your calls. Plus, the Ottawa Charge are entering a do-or-die stretch in their regular season schedule. They have just 2 games remaining, one of which is tonight in Boston. If they get a regulation win against the Fleet, their ticket is booked ahead of Saturday’s finale against the Sceptres. If they don’t, they have to secure a win against Toronto on Saturday. Charge GM Mike Hirschfeld pays us a visit in Hour 3.
