Ottawa Now - Prescott pyrotechnics company plays a key role in Artemis II's safe return to Earth

As Canada sent its first astronaut to the Moon, it was a Canadian company that was tasked with bringing all of the astronauts back to Earth safely. Well, except they didn’t know it at first. That prestigious honour belongs to HFI Pyrotechnics, a Prescott-based pyrotechnics company. It supplied the marine marker used to outline the target-landing zone and its conditions during Artemis II’s splashdown. However, the usage of this marker came as a complete surprise to everyone at the company, to the point where the company’s President did a double-take when she watched the spacecraft’s landing in real time.
