An Ontario couple was shocked to receive a provincial order to investigate ancestral remains discovered on their property years before they lived there. A number of Indigenous and non-Indigenous homeowners and experts say the law mandating burial site investigations doesn’t make sense for anyone — and needs to be rewritten.

A new poll from Leger has found Liberal voters are more likely to support the use of the notwithstanding clause than Conservatives.
