Man accused in fatal crossing guard hit and run pleads guilty to 1 of 2 charges

The 19-year-old accused in the hit and run that left an Ottawa crossing guard dead last month pleaded guilty to failing to remain at the scene. Xzander Wright has also pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving causing death.
Dr. Elaine Ma, the Kingston, Ont., physician who organized dozens of vaccine clinics early in the COVID-19 pandemic — and who was ordered to pay back hundreds of thousands of dollars in fees for those services — says she's feeling somewhat relieved after the latest turn in her legal ordeal.
