Canadian Armed Forces to put away the big guns, end avalanche management in B.C.'s Rogers Pass

For more than 70 years, the Canadian Armed Forces have managed the avalanche control in Glacier National Park, alongside Parks Canada. That unique partnership is set to end in August 2027, when the Memorandum of Understanding expires.
Ottawa police say the woman struck by a vehicle in Barrhaven last week has died. They are appealing to anyone who saw the collision or may have dashcam footage of the incident to contact authorities.
